Calling All Early Birds
Sunrise Drive coming up on Sunday.
The first Sunrise Drive of the 2008 season is coming up on Sunday. The Auto Road will open at 3:30am for you to drive yourself to the summit.
Needless to say, this should be really cool.
In case you're wondering what it's like, click here to check out video from one of our Sunrise Drives last summer.
One tip: Don't wait until the last minute to get here. If everyone arrives at the same time, you could get stuck in traffic and miss it. So, don't hit the snooze button!
Hope to see you on Sunday morning.

Mt Washington does not disappoint.
A breathtaking undercast of clouds, a near perfect sunrise over the undercast, a black bear foraging for its morning meal and a moose, a big moose along side the Road. These are the things you missed this morning on the Auto Road if you allowed the forecast to part of your decision process in deciding not to come. Mt Washington is famous for its weather, you just never know what to expect and it never disappoints.

Today was great! The drive up was a really fun experience (we were car #2). The last mile or so was extremely fogged in; going 10 mph felt fast.
We got to the summit and helpful people point us in the direction of things (since they couldn't be seen even with a flash light).
We were then told where we could see the sunrise... and we did! (about mile 5.7)
Then we went for a wonderful alpine garden hike and got back to the car just before it starting raining.
The drive down was wonderful with new flowers to see along the road, thunder (we like that), and lots of rain!
