On Snow Conditions
Even my own mother doesn't believe me.
Being a good son, I called my mom the other night to say hello. As we were chatting, she asked me how the skiing was."I read the snow conditions report on the website, but I wanted to know what it was really like," she said.
"Mom, I did the report this morning. The skate skiing's great," I replied.
"Yeah, but you can't believe those things."
My own mother didn't even believe the conditiions report that I posted. This is not good. What have we ski areas done? Ski areas, alpine and nordic, have a long history of exaggerating their condtions. Let me assure you, we don't do that. We tell it like it is.
Right now, the skate skiing is awesome. Sue just lit up the radio with a report from out on the trail system. She sounded like a little kid at Christmas. If you're interested in classic skiing, we only have .5km tracked. Why? Because our base is not as deep as we would like to see it thanks to this crazy winter. We want to set good quality tracks. We rather have the highest quality ski experience. That being said, there is at least 2 inches of new snow (probably more in the woods), which will make the classic skiing really fun. If you have your heart set on tracks, you should look elsewhere, but make sure the tracks are quality and really what you hoped for.
So, Mom, and everyone else, you'll always find truth in our snow report. But if you have a question call or email us. We'll tell you exactly what it's like. What good would it do us for you to come here thinking one thing, finding something else and then have a bad experience? You won't come back. I know I wouldn't. We want you to have fun. That's why we're here.

It's true. You never lie about conditions, and you never sacrifice the quality of the trails just to set track. That's why you have the best grooming in the valley!!!! You also are the friendliest!

I'm not sure this qualifies you for celebrity status, but you're welcome. BTW, the skiing is even better today.
