Different Hats
Hats for every job!
"We wear a lot of different hats around here"
"We wear a lot of different hats around here" is what my boss told me the day I was hired. I'm pretty sure he told everyone that was hired here the same thing. Today I was here at 6:30ish with my responsible hat on to email and fax the snow report to all parties interested on a Thursday. This went fairly smooth and I was done in a half hour. After that I put on my ski hat and went out to test the product for a half hour. For those of you wondering, the skating may be the best around. I know it's the best we have had all season. After that I put on my shower cap for about five minutes and I was ready to hit the sales floor. Actually, I was wearing two hats at that point Manager on Duty cap (MOD for those that like to feel as thought you know all the lingo) and sales associate hat.
That lasted for about two hours and I was then to attend a DOT meeting (I put on my thinking cap) at AMC because my GM was MIA. (Everyone got all that?) The meeting was brief so I was back to Great Glen to run a couple tubing shuttles. It was cold out but I had a hood so I didn't need a hat.
Scott was scheduled to take out some kids for an afternoon lesson so I stood in for him covering the snowmaking for a couple hours. The snowmaking hat is a very important one around here. Thousands of dollars of equipment and the future of all nordic is in your hands as the snowmaker. It's a fun job though when the temps are right, the wind and the humidity are low. You can see your labor piling up in front of you.
Took the snowmaking hat off and put the retail hat back on at about 3:00. Sold a couple things in the shop and now I am wearing my Blogger Hat. We are hosting a Huge Nordic Demo this weekend so we all will be wearing our rally hats. Boy, we wear a lot of hats around here.

Hey Nate,
Nice blog! Thanks for pitching in and modeling all those hats. Sounds like you had a great day - I always have loved the variety of stuff we all do at GGT.
