Running in the Rain

I love running in the rain.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I love running in the rain. I went for a run in the rain yesterday, and it was great. For any run, the hardest part for me is getting out the door. When it's raining, it's always twice as hard. But once I'm out there, I'm always psyched I got myself going. With the right clothing, it's the best. Really, I think it's an ego thing. You always get the best looks from people as they drive by: "Didn't his mother teach him to come out of the rain?" or "That looks like it sucks." I love that. Makes me feel twice as tough as I really am. I always manage to run a little faster in the rain, too. Not because I want to get in out of the rain, but because, again, I feel twice as tough. My shoes have dried mud all over them today. Good stuff. Of course, it's pouring today...there's no way I'm going out there.
