High winds and cold force postponement

Saturday 4:30 am. With winds steady at 60 mph and gusting over 70, the temperature at 41 F and clouds blowing over the summit of Mt Washington, we have made the decision to postpone Newton's Revenge, the bicycle hillclimb up Mt Washington, until Sunday, July 8. With the wind chill at 26 F, the safety of both volunteers as well as racers is our biggest concern and there really was no hesitation on the need to postpone.

The Auto Road will now open for normal tourist traffic at the usual hour of 7:30 am assuming the winds do not climb much higher. The Auto Road will now open for tourist traffic at 11:30 am on Sunday.
