A little rain to dampen the mood?

(More blog entries from howie)

This is New England after all

So this morning brings us back down a notch after the euphoria of the past serveral weeks.  We have had one of the most incredible early December ski seasons in years with so much snow coming in managable storms over the month.  And today we get some rain to change things up a bit, consolidate the snowpack and firm up the base for the rest of winter.  We'll weather this event in fine shape and with our grooming skills we'll be back to great skiing very soon.  I'm going out for a run in this light drizzle on the waxless classics just for the contrast to yesterdays pre-dawn to alpineglow skate skiing that Sue and I enjoyed.  See you soon.

An update on this mornings ski...the skiing was waaay better than I was expecting. Doesn't hurt that there wasn't a drop of rain or drizzle while I was out, the tracks are excellent and the wet packed powder was perfect for waxless classic skis. Not bad so far for a "rainy" day. (10am)
