Small Bumper Mount Washington Auto Road

What Happened to Mt. Nowhere?

(More blog entries from ryan)

Oh, great mound of dirt, we hardly knew ye.

If you've made your way to Great Glen Trails lately, headed out through the tunnel, around Geepers and down the Sluice, you may have gotten the feeling that something is missing. And, you'd be right. The legendary bump of dirt known as Mt. Nowhere is no more. The bump that Eli has so carpriciously added into the running series, or the bikers have sped down during the 24 Hours of Great Glen has gone to a better place.

It's gone to the tubing hill. We're expanding our tubing hill this winter. (You heard it here first!) The amount of dirt in Mt. Nowhere was just right for us to widen the tubing hill and improve the runout. Should be a great upgrade for the winter. So, shed no tears for Mt. Nowhere. It will be missed, but now it's going to be put to an even better use.

It's going to the "Pit" where they will be stored for future use on the Auto Road.

What?? You're not going to haul them out to whiplash to make it a little more challenging? I hear that some of the racers actually "clean" that trail on Tuesday nights. Apparently it isn't tough enough....

I've actually been throwing them up in the air and catching them as part of my "get-even-more-huger" program.
