What's blooming in the Glen? Update 1

This is to update those of you who like to know which wildflowers are blooming here.

The Lady Slippers are blooming.  I saw them on Libby Trace yesterday but I am sure they are out in their usual locations.  In the field the Wood Sorrel is blooming as well as the Wild Strawberry and the leaves of the Lupine, False Hellebore (Indian Poke) and Meadow Rue are opening.  Along the trails you will find, Painted and Purple Trillium, Wild Oats, Clintonia (Blue Bead Lilly), Indian Cucumber, Star Flower, Goldthread, Wild Sarsparilla, and Bunchberry which is just beginning.  More to follow.....

Amy, Thanks for identifying Goldthread for me! Ryan and I saw a ton of it in the woods this past weekend when we were hiking on the AT between Kinsman and Franconia Notches, but couldn't remember what it was! Now I know. Perfect :-) I love this time of year when all these beautiful new plants are coming alive in the woods! Glad to hear you're out enjoying them too.

If this had been my post it would have read: "Today, I saw some flowers." I think Amy is trying to rub it in. At least mine had a photo.

What I enjoy most about walking in the series on Thursdays is seeing all the wildflowers. Great Glen has the most amazing collection, and each week there are more to see. The white lady slippers were awesome, and I can't wait to see the pink next week. Some of the runners told me they didn't see any lady slippers!!! That's the beauty of walking it, I guess. You have more time to look around.
