I have to admit, I've never heard of this band. They call themselves Low. Apparently, they like to sing about former Soviet republics and put cross country skiing in their music videos. As with most music videos that we're made after 1988, I have no idea what is going on here.

Now, this was so much clearer: Rock out, wear ripped jeans, have big hair, get chicks with big hair. The eighties truly were simpler times.

In case you're wondering, I have indeed seen Def Leppard in concert, and I understand your jealousy. Doubtless, my iTunes will be playing nothing but Def Leppard today.

We all know Ryan has trouble tearing his attention away from classic videos like Twisted sister's "We're not gonna take it " circa 85'......but we can see here his sharing of that Minnesota bands work, catches a curious eye and strikes up some interest. In the epic spirit of a U2esque "new Years Day" song video...and it's on horseback excursion through snow covered European fields.....we see this band sort of throws out its own attempt to capture snowy landscape along with nordic ski fluidity tossed in.....meshing a collection of natural and industrial themes. Kind of has a treking through Siberia musical linger to it....Ok ok enough of my Kurt Loder MTV news type accessment. Perhaps a rollerski roll from woods to Pulp mill smokestake can lend to tapping into my reflection of self,world and landscape connection....much as the yellow jacketed skier. Alright...enough! This isn't a social geography essay.

I think I understood the Low video better than what Eli just posted. Apparently, his effort in the trail running series last night has affected his brain.

I'd like to see those Def Leppard guys skiing cross country. They've got the energy, they even look like they've got the muscles for it. But what I am really hoping and waiting for, is for James Taylor to create a song about cross country skiing. We know he's a skier, a couple years ago Salomon was calling around, trying to find a pair of boots in his size. Wouldn't that be great for our sport--it's own hit song by JT?! C'mon JT, help us out!

I bet the boys from Def Leppard were pretty fit back in the day. Big time shows every night and...um...hanging out...with groupies. Now, I assume they're bloated.
